Absolutely Perfect, December 20, 2013
Brayan Diaz I just hope the authors write a second book! The characters are very interesting and there is a cliffhanger at the end of each chapter. Oh yes, I went ahead and bought the audio series. There is a coupon that comes with the book, but it’s not free. I wish now though, that I had listened to the audio series first, and then bought Il Fait Beau. The audio series comes with some unique instruction which I’ve never had before. The guys who wrote this are obviously very creative.
Better Than Rosetta Stone, December 16, 2013
Amy Hood This book is a lot of fun. I am going to read a little more and then purchase the audio. A word of warning. The audio does not come with this book, but there is a coupon for the audio that does come with it. I think this is better than Rosetta stone, but I wish the writers had advanced French. They don’t.
Very Right brained, July 25, 2014
Beto Uribe I learned a lot from this series. It was fun and, as they advertise, very right brained. I have been watching some French movies recently and am surprised by how much I can understand.
Interesting and Funny through, December 27, 2013
Nancy Mitchell I loved this book. It was fascinating to read a complete story (actually a dramatization) in beginning French. I have been trying to learn French for so long and am so bored with these readers that have such trite stories, if a story at all…..
This is a story about a rich woman and a poor violinist. Rich woman loves violinist, violinist runs from rich woman. It was not only engaging it was very funny. I wish the audio series had come with it though. I may get that next.
Top of it's class, December 23, 2013
Kelly Long This is the best book I've read for someone learning French. The terminology isn’t what you would expect in a beginning reader, but I can see that it is necessary to keep the story going. I highly recommend this book for anyone learning French. It does not speak down do you by any means, but instead, gives the you credit for a good deal of intelligence and shows confidence in the reader. I give this book top marks and rate it at the top of it's class.
Interesting treatment, July 6, 2014
ZoeyShadow (Philadelphia, PA USA). There are several books available to beginning learners of French, but this series is unique. It starts with very simple words and phrases, then builds gradually. The story is charming, holds interest, and includes quizzes at the end of each chapter. As tempting as it may be to skip the questions, don't; they reinforce the new words, check your understanding, and reveal to you the progress you're making.
I recommend this book, December 27, 2013
Willie Brown This was amazing. I just wish they had stories in other languages –like Spanish. This is a very different kind of story because it truly is interesting and the story makes you want to keep going. There are also exercises along the way that you can do if you want. Actually, I skipped most of them but it was nice to see they were available. I recommend this book.
I love this Book, December 16, 2013
Gary Hersey I love this book. Not only am I learning French, but I am reading a really great story as well. I am only half way through, but I wanted to stop and just write a note of appreciation to the authors. I am actually an intermediate French reader, but see how it can work for beginners.
Great for an easily bored beginning French reader, May 13, 2014
Paige Roberts Fun little story.Easy to pick up new vocabulary. Love the links in the Kindle version that take you to translations of new words or phrases when you can't figure them out.
I really learn better with stories that engage, rather than boring interminable exercises. I wish there were 20 more books in this series.
Easy to Read, December 17, 2013
Katherina L. I read this story in a weekend on my Kindle. I don’t know how it would be for someone who has actually never had any French at all. I took French in High School and was lousy at it. But this story was completely in French and easy to read. The translations are at the back and available by clicking on an endnote.
